Canada is one of many countries that we dreamed of visiting once in our lifetime. Last year we had to be heartbroken when traveling to Niagara Falls on the USA side because we were unable to apply for Canada visa in time, so we missed to go over and see the beauty of Niagara Falls on Canada side. This time we intend to head to Canada directly (only Canada) to be worthwhile for having to fly for a long time. This trip we will go to prove whether Rocky Mountains are gorgeous as be rumored or not? ช่วงที่เราเดินทางเป็นเดือนสิงหาคม ซึ่งเป็นฤดูร้อน นับเป็นช่วงที่เหมาะสำหรับการไปแคมปิ้ง โดยเราเลือกที่จะไปเที่ยวที่ Vancouver (รัฐ British Columbia) และ Calgary (รัฐ Alberta) เพื่อเยี่ยมชมทัศนียภาพทางธรรมชาติอันสวยงามภายใต้อากาศเย็นสบาย แน่นอนว่าช่วงเวลาแบบนี้นักท่องเที่ยวย่อมเยอะเป็นธรรมดาทำให้ที่พักต่างๆ เต็มค่อนข้างเร็ว และนักท่องเที่ยวตามแต่ละ Lake ก็เยอะพอสมควร ดังนั้นเราจึงต้องวางแผนการเดินทางและที่พักไว้ล่วงหน้าให้ดี
We planned to visit Canada in August when is the summer. This time is an ideal period for camping. We decided to go to Vancouver (in British Columbia) and Calgary (in Alberta state) to see the beauty of natural scenery surrounded with the cool weather. Of course, during this kind of time, many tourists would be as usual. The accommodations are full quite fast. There are a lot of tourists along the lakes accordingly. So, we have to plan the trip carefully and reserve the accommodation in advance.

ก่อนอื่นเรามาเริ่มที่เรื่องของการทำวีซ่ากันก่อน การยื่นวีซ่าแคนาดา ทำได้ 2 ช่องทาง คือ ยื่นผ่าน VFS (แบบ Paper) ข้อดีคือ เร็ว และ ยื่นออนไลน์ ข้อดีคือ ไม่ต้องทิ้งพาสปอร์ตไว้
VISA
We have to apply for the visa first. Applying for a Canadian visa can be done in two ways: The first one is submitting via VFS (paper form) which is fast. Another way is online submission which we do not have to give them your passport.
เราเลือกยื่นแบบออนไลน์เนื่องจากมีเดินทางบ่อย ทำให้ไม่ต้องทิ้งพาสปอร์ตไว้นานๆ ซึ่งขั้นตอนก็ไม่ยุ่งยาก สามารถทำได้ง่ายๆ ดังนี้
1. เข้าไปที่ http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta-start.asp
2. กดคลิกปุ่ม Apply for an eTA ด้านล่าง
3. กรอกข้อมูลต่างๆ และตอบคำถามให้ครบถ้วน
4. หน้า Document Checklist จะบอกให้ทราบว่าต้องทำอย่างไรต่อไป
หรือต้องยื่นเอกสารอะไรเพิ่มเติมบ้าง โดยใช้ Ref. Code เป็นหมายเลขอ้างอิง
5.สร้าง Account เพื่อตรวจสอบสถานะของวีซ่าที่ยื่น -> สร้าง Account
แล้วเลือกที่ Continue to GCKey เพื่อสร้าง Username และ Password
6.หลังจากยื่นเอกสารเรียบร้อยแล้ว รอผลทาง E-mail ได้เลย
ทางสถานทูตจะอัพเดทสถานะของวีซ่าให้เราทราบเป็นระยะ โดยส่วนมาก จะได้วีซ่าแคนาดากันแบบยาวๆ ไปจนถึงวันหมดอายุของ Passport กันเลยทีเดียว อ่อ ใช้ระยะเวลาในการพิจารณาวีซ่าประมาณ 14-21 วัน ครับ
We choose to apply online because we have other trips so we do not need to leave the passport for a long time. The procedure is not complicated and can be done easily as follows:
1. Visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta-start.asp
2. Click “Apply for an eTA” button below.
3. Fill in all required information and answer all questions.
4. We can check what is the next step we have to do on the “Document Checklist” page
(i.e. need to submit additional documents) by entering Ref. Code.
5. Create an Account to check the status of the visa -> Create Account and choose
“Continue to GCKey” to create a Username and Password.
6. After submitting the documents, the result will be sent to our E-mail.
The embassy will update us the status of the visa periodically. Mostly, applicants will get Canadian visa which will expire at the expiration date of their passports. We have to wait for the result around 14-21 days.
มาที่เรื่องของตั๋วเครื่องบินกันบ้าง ครั้งนี้เราเลือกเดินทางด้วยสายการบิน Hong Kong Airlines เครื่องออกจากไทยเวลา 03:35 น. สามารถทำเช็คอินล่วงหน้าจากทางเว็บไซท์ -> Hongkong Airlines สะดวก สบาย ไม่ต้องไปต่อคิวให้เสียเวลา เพื่อไปต่อเครื่องที่ฮ่องกง (ใช้เวลาเดินทางประมาณ 3 ชั่วโมงครึ่ง) ระหว่างไฟลท์มีอาหารร้อนให้บริการ 1 มื้อ และมีทีวีส่วนตัว
This time we chose to travel with Hong Kong Airlines. The departure time (from Bangkok) is at 03:35 a.m. We can check-in in Hongkong Airlines website in advance -> Hongkong Airlines that is very convenient and no need to queue up at the check-in counter at the airport. We have to transit at Hong Kong (It takes about 3 and a half hours to go to Hong Kong). During the flight, there is one hot meal served. There is private TV at every seat.

While waiting for connecting flight at Hong Kong International Airport, we had the opportunity to access the Club Autus Lounge which serves all Business Class passengers (Economy class passengers can buy voucher in order to access this lounge via -> https://goo.gl/M6Ua8R). It is spacious and there are many different seats. There are a lot of food including dim sum, porridge, fried noodles, water noodles etc. In addition, there is bathroom with L’Occitane products, relaxing corner, and observation deck.

The flight to Vancouver takes about 12 and a half hours. We sit in the business class zone. The airplane is A330-200 model. The layout of business class seats is 1-2-1 which there are 18 seats in total. Each seat is designed to be private. The seat is wide, come with a leg stand, and can be adjusted up to 180 degrees which make us sleep comfortably. There are wide TV screen and large table. We got pillow, blanket, soft slippers, a bottle of mineral water, and headphones. Since March 2019 onwards, the airline will switch to use A350 airplane for Hong Kong-Vancouver flights in order to make all passengers feel more comfortable. Anyone who plans to fly through this route can prepare to celebrate the new airplane very soon.

Amenities bag is filled with the essentials stuff including L’Occitane lip balm, hand cream, and so on. Food and drinks are served in various choices. Our lunch starts with the starter menu that is Sous Vide Scallops with Citrus Salad (fresh salad served with large and juicy scallop). The next dish is Roasted Pork Shoulder with Red Wine Prune Sauce (ambrosial pork with yummy sauce). End up with a dessert like Raspberry Chocolate Mousse (good looking and delicious). For drinks, we tried Hong Kong-Style Milk Tea, (fragrant milk tea in Hong Kong style). There are other beverages including juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee, champagne, wine, etc.

After the meal, Sky Bar will start to serve at the back of the business class zone. There are various drinks menu that we can drink as much as we want all the time. There is also a mid-flight snack that is a delicious dim sum.

Before landing, the breakfast is served which is starts with fruit and yogurt (starter), then follow with the main course like Banana Crepes. For drinks, we chose Hong Kong-Style Yuan Yang which is well blend of coffee and mellow tea.

เมื่อเดินทางมาถึงสนามบิน Vancouver เราเดินทางเข้าเมืองด้วยการนั่งรถไฟ TransLink โดยซื้อตั๋วแบบ 1-Day Pass ในราคา 15.25 CAD (1 CAD มีมูลค่าประมาณ 25 บาท) เพื่อไปยังย่าน Downtown

Reached Vancouver airport, we went to the city by taking TransLink train. We purchased 1-Day Pass ticket to go to Downtown. The ticket is 15.25 CAD (1 CAD equals to 25 baht).

Vancouver is the most important city in British Columbia because it is located on the Pacific coast, therefore it is used as a west gateway of Canada. Vancouver become an economic center which has population around 2 million people and there are a lot of Hong Kong people live there. In 1997, when British had to return Hong Kong back to China; a lot of Hong Kong people decided to move to Canada because Canada is under British rule (same as Hong Kong) and Canada is a wide country but small population so there are available space for them.

After we already checked in at the hotel, we visited Gastown where is an old town filled with restored Victorian architecture. Due to this, Gastown became a popular tourist attraction in Vancouver.
โดยไฮไลท์เด็ดที่นักท่องเที่ยวต้องมานั่นก็คือ นาฬิกาไอน้ำเรือนแรกของโลก ที่สร้างเมื่อปี 1870 และยังใช้งานได้อยู่ในปัจจุบัน นาฬิกาจะตีบอกเวลาทุกๆ 15 นาที ซึ่งจะเป็นเสียงดนตรีเดียวกับนาฬิกาบิ๊กเบนในกรุงลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ นาฬิกาไอน้ำนี้จะพ่นไอน้ำออกมาทุกๆ 1 ชั่วโมง นักท่องเที่ยวจึงเฝ้ารอเพื่อเก็บภาพไอน้ำที่พวยพุ่งออกมาไว้เป็นที่ระลึก สถานที่ตั้งของนาฬิกาไอน้ำนี้หาไม่อยาก จะอยู่ตรงแยกที่ Water St. ตัดกับ Cambie St. พอดิบพอดี
The highlight that tourists should not missed is the world’s first steam clock built in 1870 and still in use nowadays. The clock rings every 15 minutes. The music is same as the Big Ben’s in London. This steam clock blows the steam out every hour. The tourists always wait to take pictures of the steam to keep in their memorial. This steam clock is located at the intersection of Water St. and Cambie St.

After that, we went to see the view of the city from the top at Outlook Vancouver where we can see various important places including Stanley Park, Lions Gate Bridge, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Port of Vancouver, Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR), Iron Workers Memorial Bridge, Burnady, Dominion Building, Sun Tower, Chinatown, and Granville Island. There is relaxing area where you can enjoy the view of the city. The ticket admission fee is 18.37 CAD (including GST). Canadian GST is 5%.
พักที่เที่ยวกันแปปนึง และขอเติมพลังมื้อเย็นกันที่ร้านอาหารกึ่งบาร์ ชื่อ Rodney’s Oyster House บริเวณเคาน์เตอร์มีหอยสดๆ โชว์ไว้ให้เลือกมากมาย โดยพนักงานจะแกะและปรุงให้เห็นกันเลย เมนูที่อยากแนะนำก็คือ Mussels ปรุงรสด้วย Dill Butter กระเทียมและไวน์ หอยเนื้อแน่นปรุงรสกลมกล่อม, Lobster Poutine มันฝรั่งทอดราดซอสเกรวี่และชีส เสิร์ฟพร้อมเนื้อกุ้งมังกรแน่นๆ (Poutine เป็นอาหารท้องถิ่นของแคนาดา) และ Crab Cakes เนื้อปูปรุงรสด้วยพริกหวานแล้วนำมาทอดเป็นชิ้น
We enjoyed our dinner time at Rodney’s Oyster House where is the mix between restaurant and bar. At the counter, there are various fresh shells that we can choose. The chef will unpack and cook our selected shells at this counter. The recommended menu is Mussels which seasoned with dill butter, garlic, and wine. Another recommended dish is Lobster Poutine that is potato chips with gravy sauce and cheese served with yummy lobster (Poutine is a local Canadian dish). The last one is Crab Cakes which is fried crab meat seasoned with sweet peppers.

Today we bought 1-Day Pass ticket for traveling in the city (Ticket price is 10.25 CAD before tax which is cheaper than buying at the airport) because it is cheaper than buying 1-time ticket which priced 2.95 CAD. Today we are heading to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park by taking free shuttle bus in the front of the Hyatt Regency hotel. The bus takes about 20 minutes to go to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. During the way, the driver described about places when we passed. Upon arrival, we had to buy a ticket first. The price of adult ticket (17-64 years) is 46.95 CAD. The price of child tickets (13-16 years) are 27.95 CAD. For children aged 6-12, the price of the tickets is 14.95 CAD. It is free access for children under 6 years. For the seniors (over 65 years old), the ticket price is 42.95 CAD.
วนอุทยาน Capilano เปิดเวลา 8:00-20:00 น. เป็นสวนที่มีขนาดใหญ่ เมื่อมาถึงทุกคนจะต้องมุ่งไปที่ Capilano Bridge ซึ่งเป็นสะพานแขวนที่ยาวที่สุดในโลก ยาวถึง 137 เมตร อยู่สูงจากแม่น้ำ Capilano ที่ไหลเชี่ยวถึง 70 เมตร สะพานแขวนแห่งนี้สร้างโดยวิศวกรชาวสก๊อตแลนด์ สร้างด้วยสายเคเบิ้ลที่สามารถรองรับเครื่องบิน 747 ที่บรรทุกคนเต็มลำได้ถึง 2 ลำ จากสถิติพบว่ามีผู้มาเยี่ยมชมสะพานแห่งนี้ปีละกว่า 800,000 คน
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Upon arrival, everyone has to go to Capilano Bridge which is the longest suspension bridge in the world. Its length is 137 meters (from the Capilano River) and its width is 70 meters. This suspension bridge was built by Scottish civil engineer. The current bridge used with thick steel cables, capable of support two fully-loaded 747 airplanes. According to the statistics, there are over 800,000 visitors per year.

After crossing the 137-metre span, visitors enter a 300-year-old coastal rainforest. Home to giant Cedar, Douglas Fir, and Western Hemlock trees, many of which existed long before European settlers arrived in North America. These trees support the Tree Tops Adventure which includes 7 footbridges that from a walkway 30 metres above the forest.

Another highlight that you should not miss is Cliffwalk where you can enjoy a beautiful view of nature clearly.

Then we visited the local food stalls at Granville Island Public Market. It is a market that sells various both savory and dessert.

The recommended dessert is “Nanaimo Bar” which is a 3-layer dessert. Its base made from roasted coconut, nuts and crackers. The middle layer is vanilla custard. The upper layer made of chocolate and butter. It is a dessert that should not be missed when visiting Canada.

On the way to Stanley Park, we are eye-catched with Vancouver Biennale Open Air Museum that full of artworks created by Chinese artist named Yue Minjun. There are many painted bronze sculptures of men laughing in various gestures called A-Maze-Ing Laughter. The bronze characters depict the artist’s own face, grin gaping and eye closed in hysterical laughter, and can be interpreted in many ways.

มาต่อกันที่ Stanley Park สวนสาธารณะที่มีลักษณะเหมือนเกาะยื่นลงไปใน Burrard Inlet มีพื้นที่กว่า 10,000 เอเคอร์ ตั้งชื่อตาม Lord Frederick Stanley เปิดเมื่อวันที่ 27 Sep 1888 มีคนมาเยือนสวนแห่งนี้ถึงปีละ 8 ล้านคน เป็นสวนที่มีขนาดใหญ่กว่า Central Park ในมหานคร New York ถึง 10% นับเป็นสวนสาธารณะที่ใหญ่เป็นอันดับ 3 ในอเมริกาเหนือ
Next, we will move to Stanley Park which is island-like park extending into the Burrard Inlet. Its area is over 10,000 acres. It was named after Lord Frederick Stanley. It opened on 27 September 1888. There are around 8 million visitors per year. It is 10% larger than Central Park in New York and being the third largest park in North America.

There are many tourist spots including Vancouver Aquarium, Stanley Park, Horse-Drawn Tours, Lost Lagoon, and Beaver Lake, etc. Moreover, there are also restaurants, golf courses, and water parks for children, small train to view the garden, and small beaches for pets.

Due to the large size of this park, we decided to rent a bicycle to spin together. We rented bicycle from Spokes shop (there are many rental shops around the park) which has various models of bicycle for rent. We rented Tandem model which support 2 people. The rental fee is 17.14 CAD per hour (The rental fee for half day that will take around 3-6 hours is 51.42 CAD)

We ended our trip in Vancouver with a delicious dish called “Lobster Roll”. Many people suggested that we should try this menu when we visit Vancouver. We chose to try at The Holy Crab restaurant. The Lobster Roll is a sandwich filled with abundant of lobster meat. Eat one will made you full all day. This is another recommended menu that you should not miss.
Calgary
วันต่อมา เราตื่นแต่เช้าเพื่อขึ้นเครื่องไปยัง Calgary ซึ่งเป็นเมืองที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของรัฐ Alberta ตั้งอยู่เชิงเขาทางฝั่งขวาของเทือกเขาร็อกกี้ (Mt. Rocky) ห่างจาก Banff National Park 130 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลาเดินทางโดยเครื่องบินภายในประเทศประมาณ 1 ชั่วโมง 15 นาที เมื่อถึง Calgary เราใช้วิธีเช่ารถขับเพื่อความคล่องตัว และไว้ขนของที่เตรียมไปแคมปิ้งกันที่ Banff National Park
Calgary
The next day we woke up so early to fly to Calgary, the largest city in Alberta state, which located on the right of Rocky Mountains (Mt. Rocky). It far from Banff National Park 130 kilometers. This domestic flight took around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Arrived at Calgary, we rented a car for the mobility and easy to carry our stuffs to go camping at Banff National Park.
ใช้เวลาขับรถจากสนามบินมา Canmore Downtown ประมาณ 3 ชั่วโมง โดยเรามุ่งหน้าไปรับตั๋วเพื่อเข้า National Park กันที่ Banff Visitor Center ซึ่งทุกคนที่เข้าไปเที่ยวหรือพักที่ Banff National Park จะต้องห้อยบัตรนี้ไว้ที่กระจกมองหลังในรถทุกคัน
We drove about 3 hours from the airport to Canmore Downtown. First, we head to get National Park entry ticket at Banff Visitor Center. Everyone who visits or stays at Banff National Park must hang this ticket at the mirror of his/her car.
Camping

Camping
In Canada’s national parks, there are many camps that spread in many locations. Each camp has different accommodation, location, price, and style of tent or residence. In summer (during Jul-Sep), camps will be filled very quickly because most of tourists will book at least 3 months in advance. If you plan to stay at the camp here, you should hurry to book as early as you can. You can book the camp and pay online via the national park’s system. อย่างคืนแรกพวกเราได้จองและเข้าพักที่ Two Jackman Ground Camp แค่นึกว่าจะได้มานอนแคมป์ในอุทยาน แค่นี้ก็ตื่นเต้นแล้ว เมื่อมาเห็นของจริงต้องบอกเลยว่าเค้าจัดการได้ดีมาก ทุกอย่างเป็นระบบ ระเบียบเรียบร้อย มีที่จอดรถหน้าเต็นท์แต่ละหลัง มีช่วงเวลา Quiet Time คือช่วง 23:00-07:00 น. โดยทางแคมป์จะห้ามไม่ให้รถของ Visitor ที่ไม่ได้พักที่นี่เข้าหลังเวลา 23:00 น. เพื่อไม่ให้เป็นการรบกวนนักท่องเที่ยวคนอื่นที่เข้าพักอยู่
The first night we stayed at Two Jackman Ground Camp. Thinking of staying at the camp in the national park, we felt so exciting. Everything in this camp is managed very well. There is a car park in front of each tent. The quiet time is between 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. in order to avoid disturbing others.
เต็นท์ที่เรานอนเป็นเต็นท์สำหรับ 6 คน (มีเต็นท์ให้เลือกเพียงขนาดเดียว) ห้องน้ำรวมแยกชาย-หญิง กฎของที่นี่คือ ห้ามทิ้งอาหารและของมีกลิ่นไว้ที่หน้าเต๊นท์และในเต๊นท์ตอนไม่มีคนอยู่ เพราะอาจมีหมีหรือสัตว์ป่าอื่นๆ มาเอาไป ซึ่งอาจเป็นอันตรายต่อสัตว์นั้นๆ ได้ มีอุปกรณ์ Fireban และเตาบาร์บีคิวเตรียมไว้ให้ หากจะทำอาหารควรไปทำที่ Cooking Shelter และหากมีอาหารเหลือต้องนำไปเก็บที่ Locker หรือในรถให้มิดชิด
The tent that we stay in is for 6 people (only one size of the tent here). There are common bathrooms but be separated to male and female zones. The rule of staying here is Do not leave food and smelly stuff in or in front of the tent when there is no one stay because it might be dangerous to us and to bears or other wild animals if they come to eat these stuffs. Fireban barbecue equipment are provided. We have to go to cook at Cooking Shelter. In case there are some foods left, it must be kept in the Locker or in the car completely.

Everyone who stays here will get manual and map within the camp. There is also coloring book for 1 kid and a set of cards for us to enjoy with companions.

We can choose the tent we want to stay since when we booked in the website. There is information about the number of tent that are still available, its location, the list of equipment that are available at the tent, and the illustrations for us to make decision. We can easily book by yourself. At Two Jackman Ground Camp, we pay only 81 CAD per night (for up to 6 people). If divide the price into 6, it is only 325 baht per person (1 CAD = 24 THB) that is affordable. The disadvantage of this camp is there is no place for shower. We must go out to take shower at Hot Spring. At the tent, there is no electricity plug, we have to charge our mobile phones at Cooking Shelter only.

Before coming, we were secretly worried about the facilities and cleanliness in the tent. But when we face the real thing, we think that it is very comfortable. Everything in the tent is spotless. The sleeping pads are well prepared but a bit hard, so we paved over with the sleeping pad that we prepared by ourselves.

Our sleeping pad branded Quechua that are available in Decathlon stores. It is very convenient to use. We just only open the cork, then the wind will flow in automatically. We don’t have to blow by mouth. When packing, we need only rolling it and the wind will go out very easily. It is very compact and easy to carry. Let’s put it over the pads that the camp provided, you will sleep much more comfortable. Another thing that needs to be prepared is sleeping bag. We bought it from Decathlon store as well. It comes with built-in hood. We also bought compacted pillow that rolls into a small ball. This pillow can be used the neck pillow when we sit on the airplane. Decathlon camping equipment is designed functionality, chic, and affordable. We bought all these equipment at Decathlon Charansanitwong branch which is near our house. There are various items here and a lot of parking lots (it is located in Lotus Charansanitwong area). We can save money to spend it during the trip instead.

Another night, we stayed at Tunnel Mountain – Village 2. The accommodation is semi-wooden tent called oTENTik which can support up to 6 people. Each camp will have different accommodation types. Some camps have only tents. Some camps have big houses. We can see more details and book through the website of the park in advance. Facilities of each camp are quite similar that are parking spaces at each house/tent, Cooking Shelter, Locker to store food etc. But there is shower room at Tunnel Mountain – Village 2. So, we no need to go out to Hot Spring.

At oTENTik, there are 2-stories bed, heater, table, and chair. The tent is spacious. There is electric plug inside the tent, so no need to go to charge the mobile phone at Cooking Shelter. The price is 131 CAD per night (able stay up to 6 people). If divided into 6, the price is around 520 baht per person (1 CAD = 24 THB). It is cheap compared to other accommodations. In summer, the temperature in day time is about 18-20 degrees Celsius. At night, we need to wear winter coats because the temperature is only 1 digit.
Canmore Downtown
ก่อนหน้านี้มีพูดถึง Hot Spring อยู่บ่อยครั้ง ซึ่งเราทั้ง 2 คนก็ได้มาอาบน้ำกันที่นี่ เนื่องจากแคมป์แบบแรกไม่มีที่อาบน้ำ ซึ่ง Hot Spring นี้ก็อยู่ไม่ไกลจากแคมป์ที่เราพัก อยู่ติดกับ Gondola ในตัวเมือง Canmore Downtown เลย
Canmore Downtown
Previously, we mentioned about the Hot Spring where we came to take shower since there is no shower room at the first camp. Hot Spring is not far from the first camp we stayed. It located next to Gondola in Canmore Downtown.

The shower room is separated into male and female zones but the pond is for all. Soaking in hot water at 40 degrees in this cold climate made us feel very relax. Don’t worry If you don’t prepare the towel because there are towels and swimsuits for rent. You will get 1 free locker that you can use only 1 time. The entrance fee is 8.30 CAD (include tax). The rent of towel is 1.90 CAD per piece. The rent of swimsuit is 1.90 CAD per person. Before soaking in the pond, we need to take shower first. The view from the pond is very gorgeous. You will see the mountain as the backdrop. We soak up until we almost forget the time.

The center or the city that is nearest to the national park is is Canmore Downtown where there are information center, restaurants, hotels, shops, supermarket, and a small church. There are a lot of delicious food here.

If you come to visit Canmore Downtown, you should not miss the famous dessert of Beaver’s Tails shops. The shape of the dessert is like the tail of Beaver. There are many toppings. The one we recommended is Banana Chocolate and Maple. The price is 5.48-6.90 CAD.
แล้วเดินมาที่ร้านไอศกรีม Cow’s Ice Cream ที่มีคนต่อแถวยาวตลอดทั้งวัน เป็นไอศกรีมขึ้นชื่อที่มีรสชาติให้เลือกมากมายทั้ง Maple, Cheesecake, Chocolate ฯลฯ
Then continue to have some ice cream at Cow’s Ice Cream shop. There is long queue in front of the shop throughout the day. It is a famous ice cream with a wide selection of flavors including Maple, Cheesecake, Chocolate etc.
อีกหนึ่งที่เที่ยวที่อยู่ภายในตัวเมืองเดินทางมาไม่ไกลนั่นก็คือ การขึ้นกระเช้าไปชมวิวมุมสูง Banff Gondola เป็นกระเช้าที่จะพาเราขึ้นไปที่ยอดเขา Sulfur Mountain ซึ่งภูเขานี้คือจุดเริ่มต้นของ Banff National Park
Another attraction in the city that is not too far is Banff Gondola that will take us to see the high-rise view at the top of Sulfur Mountain which is the starting point of Banff National Park.

เมื่อประมาณปี 1800 ได้มีการสร้างทางรถไฟผ่านมาที่ภูเขาแห่งนี้ ณ ตอนนั้นคนงานจำนวนหนึ่งได้เห็นควันพุ่งออกมาจากภูเขา เลยเดินเข้าไปดูจนได้พบกับบ่อน้ำพุร้อน จึงได้ทำการสร้างรั้วกั้นไว้และเริ่มทำธุรกิจนับแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา เวลาผ่านไปทางรัฐบาลจึงเข้ามาช่วยเหลือและผลักดันให้ Banff เป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติแห่งแรกของ แคนาดา วิวจากด้านบนสามารถมองเห็นตัวเมือง Canmore และลำธาร นับเป็นวิวที่สวยงามและน่าประทับใจมากครับ
In 1800, a railway was built through this mountain. At that time, some workers saw smoke rising from the mountains. So, they walked in and found out a hot spring. A fence is built and started doing in business since then. Over time, the government came to help and raise Banff as the Canada’s first national park. From the top, we can see Canmore town and streams that are very beautiful and impressive view.
Jasper National Park
มาเริ่มเที่ยวอุทยานแบบจริงใจกันซักหน่อย ทริปนี้เราเที่ยวกัน 2 อุทยาน คือ Banff National Park และ Jasper National Park โดยจะขอเริ่มที่ Jasper National Park ก่อน เราไปสัมผัส Glacier กันที่อุทยานนี้ ซึ่งเป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติที่ใหญ่เป็นอันดับ 2 ของ แคนาดา อยู่ห่างจาก Banff National Park ไปทางเหนือ 292 กิโลเมตร โดยมีจุดหมายแรกที่ Athabasca Glacier
Jasper National Park
This trip, we visit 2 national parks that are Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. Let start at Jasper National Park. We plan to see the Glacier at Jasper National Park which is Canada’s second largest national park. It located 292 kilometers north of Banff National Park. Our first destination is Athabasca Glacier.
การเดินทางไปก็ไม่ยากเพียงซื้อทัวร์ Glacier Adventure ในราคาคนละ 109 CAD ซึ่งต้องมาขึ้นรถบัสที่ Glacier Discovery Center นั่งไปประมาณ 3-4 นาที แล้วเปลี่ยนมาขึ้นรถ Snow Coach ที่เหมือนรถ Big Foot ขนาดใหญ่ เพื่อพาเราขึ้นไปข้างบน Glacier อีกที โดยใช้เวลาเดินทางประมาณ 15 นาที ระหว่างทางคนขับทำหน้าที่เป็นไกด์ คอยอธิบายให้ฟังตลอดทาง
It is not hard to go there. We bought Glacier Adventure tour which priced 109 CAD per person. We had to come to take the bus at Glacier Discovery Center. The bus took about 3-4 minutes. Then we took Snow Coach which is like Big Foot car. It took us to go up to the Glacier which take around 15 minutes. On the way, the driver acts as a guide by keep explaining all the way.
เมื่อมาถึงก็ปล่อยให้เราได้ถ่ายรูปอยู่บน Glacier ประมาณ 25 นาที จากตรงนี้จะมองเห็นด้านบนของ Glacier เป็นสีขาว แต่ด้านล่างของ Glacier กลับเป็นสีฟ้า เนื่องมาจากน้ำแข็งที่หนาแน่นมาก ทำให้ด้านล่างมี Air Bubble น้อยกว่าด้านบน
We took pictures on the Glacier for about 25 minutes. From this point, we saw the top of the Glacier being white while the bottom of the Glacier is blue because it is the dense ice so Air Bubble at the bottom is less than at the top.

จากนั้นนั่งรถ Shuttle Bus มาชมวิวแบบลอยฟ้ากันที่ Glacier Skywalk ซึ่งเป็นทางเดินพื้นกระจกรูปตัวยู ทำให้เราสามารถมองเห็นวิวได้อย่างชัดเจน ที่นี่ไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนรองเท้านะครับ ใส่คู่ไหนมาก็สามารถเดินบนพื้นกระจกนี้ได้หมด สำหรับตั๋วสามารถจองล่วงหน้าได้ที่ -> ลิ้งค์จองกิจกรรมอุทยาน Jasper ซึ่งมีทั้งขายแบบเป็นแพ็คเกต หรือซื้อตั๋วแยกแต่ละกิจกรรม แต่ถ้าหากไม่แน่ใจเรื่องสภาพอากาศ สามารถมาซื้อได้ที่ Discovery Center
Then we took Shuttle Bus to go to see the top view at the Glacier Skywalk which is U-shaped glass walkway. We can see the view clearly. No need to change shoes. We can walk on our own shoes on this glass floor. The tickets can be booked in advance at -> Link to book activities at Jasper National Park. There are both individual ticket and package. If you don’t certain about the weather, you can buy any ticket at Discovery Center.

Banff National Park
หลังจากดื่มด่ำกับความงามของ Glacier มาอย่างเต็มอิ่ม เราขับรถย้อนกลับมาเที่ยวทะเลสาบในแถบ Banff National Park กันต่อ แถบอุทยานนี้จะขึ้นชื่อในเรื่องของทะเลสาป ซึ่งแต่ละที่แต่ละแห่งจะมีความสวยงามที่แตกต่างกัน ทริปนี้ผมไปเที่ยวทั้งหมด 4 ทะเลสาบ โดยที่แรกที่แวะคือ Peyto Lake หลังจากจอดรถแล้ว ต้องเดินเข้าไปด้านในอีกประมาณ 15 นาที ทางเดินสบายไม่ชัน
Banff National Park
After impressed with the beauty of Glacier, we drove back to visit the lakes in Banff National Park. The lakes here are very famous. Each lake has unique beauty. This trip, I visited 4 lakes in total. The first one is Peyto Lake. After parking, we have to continue to walk for 15 minutes. The walkway is not steep.
จุดนี้จะเห็นทะเลสาบสี Turquoise สวยงามมาก น้ำสีฟ้าที่เห็นนั้นเกิดจากแร่ธาตุที่ไหลลงมาจากภูเขาเวลาหิมะละลาย สะสมกันจนเป็นสีนี้
From this point, we can see a very beautiful Turquoise lake. The blue water that we see is caused by minerals that flow down from the mountain when the snow melts. It was accumulated until the water changed to be this color.
ขับรถมาไม่ไกลจากที่แรก เราจะพบกับทะเลสาบที่สวยงามไม่แพ้กัน ที่นี่คือ Bow Lake น้ำใสนิ่ง ราวกับกระจกเลยทีเดียว สามารถจอดรถแวะชมข้างทาง หรือจะสัมผัสอย่างใกล้ชิด โดยมีทางเลี้ยวเข้าไปให้เดินริมทะเลสาบได้
Drove not far from the first lake, we will see another beautiful lake named Bow Lake. The water here is still and crystal clear. We can stop by to see the lake or walk along the lake to see its beauty closely.
วันต่อมา เราไปชมความงามของ Moraine Lake ซึ่งอยู่สูงกว่าระดับน้ำทะเล 1,883 เมตร จึงทำให้ที่นี่อากาศหนาวเย็นตลอดปี
The next day we went to see the beauty of Moraine Lake. It is 1,883 meters above sea level, thus it is cold all year round.
ช่วงหน้าร้อนจะมีนักท่องเที่ยวมาชมทะเลสาบเป็นจำนวนมาก ถ้าเช่ารถขับและอยากมีที่จอด ควรมาถึงทะเลสาบไม่เกิน 8:30 น. เพราะถ้ามาหลังจากนั้นจะไม่มีที่จอดรถเลยครับ จะต้องนำรถไปจอดที่ Lake Louise แล้วนั่งรถบริการของทางอุทยานเพื่อไปต่อรถที่ Bus Center อีกทีแล้วถึงจะมา Moraine Lake ได้ จะไม่มีรถที่วิ่งตรงระหว่าง 2 ทะเลสาบนี้ครับ
During the summer, there are many tourists visiting Moraine lake. If you rent a car and want to park inside, you should arrive here before 8.30 a.m. If you come after that, there will be no parking space. In this case, you have to park at Lake Louise and take shuttle bus to go to Bus Center. Then take another bus to go to Moraine Lake (no direct bus from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake).
เรามุ่งหน้าสู่จุดชมวิว Rockpile ซึ่งเดินไม่ถึง 500 เมตร ก็จะได้ภาพมุมสูงที่สวยงาม ทางเดินไม่ยาก ผู้ใหญ่ ผู้สูงอายุ เด็ก เดินได้ครับ
We head to the Rockpile Viewpoint by walking not more than 500 meters. We will see a beautiful top view like this. Walking to this point is not difficult. Even adults, elderly, or children can walk easily.
ครั้งแรกที่เห็นทะเลสาบแห่งนี้จากมุมสูง เราสองคนถึงกับร้องว้าว!!! และเข้าใจทันทีว่าทำไมผู้คนที่ชื่นชอบธรรมชาติถึงหลงรักประเทศแคนาดา และทำไมช่วงที่เรามาเที่ยวกัน ผู้คนจากทุกแห่งถึงหลั่งไหลกันมาที่ Calgary อย่างมากมาย จนทำให้ที่พักต่างๆ เต็มตั้งแต่หลายเดือนก่อน มันเป็นความสวยงามที่เสมือนหลุดออกมาจากเทพนิยาย ราวกับภาพวาด ไม่เคยคิดว่าของจริงจะสวยงามได้ถึงเพียงนี้ หากมีโอกาสขอให้เพื่อนๆ ได้มายืน ณ ที่แห่งนี้สักครั้ง แน่นอนว่าคงเป็น Moment ที่จะอยู่ในความทรงจำไปอีกนานแสนนาน เช่นเดียวกับเราสองคน
The first time seeing this lake from top point, both of us even say wow !!!. We immediately understand why people who like nature really love Canada and understand why many people from over the world come to Calgary in this period that make most of accommodations are full many months in advance. This beauty is like coming out of a fairy tale. It is as beautiful as the nice painting. We never thought that the real thing would be beautiful like this. If you have chance, you should come to stand here once in a lifetime. We guaranteed that it will be the moment that will stay in your memory for a long time. Like both of us.
จากนั้นเดินลงมาด้านล่างเพื่อเก็บภาพริมทะเลสาบ หยุดยืนตรงนี้แล้วจิบกาแฟอุ่นๆสักแก้ว ฟินสุดๆ ^^
Then we walked down to take pictures at the lake shore. Standing here and sip a cup of warm coffee would be a good moment ^^.
อีกหนึ่งทะเลสาบที่โด่งดังที่สุดใน แคนาดา คือ Lake Louise เป็นสถานที่ที่คนเยอะตลอดเวลา แต่มีมุมให้ถ่ายรูปเยอะมาก เพราะสามารถถ่ายบริเวณริมทะเลสาบได้ตลอดทั้งแนว ทำให้ผู้คนไม่หนาแน่นที่จุดใดจุดหนึ่ง
Another famous lake in Canada is Lake Louise. There are a lot of tourists all day. There are so many points to take pictures. We can take pictures all the way along the lake side, so people are not crowded at only one point.
เพื่อให้ได้อารมณ์มากยิ่งขึ้น เราเลยตัดสินใจพายเรือเพื่อชมวิวทะเลสาบแบบใกล้ชิด แต่เรือพายที่นี่ราคาค่อนข้างแพง ครึ่งชั่วโมงอยู่ที่ 95 CAD และ 1 ชั่วโมงอยู่ที่ 105 CAD เอาหล่ะ สักครั้งในชีวิต ลองพายเรือใน Lake Louise สักทีละกัน
To get closer to Lake Louise, we decided to row the boat in the lake. The rental fee is quite expensive. It is 95 CAD for half an hour and 105 CAD for 1 hour. Already arrived here, we rented boat for half an hour finally.
และก็ไม่ผิดหวัง ความฟินแบบนี้คงหาที่ไหนไม่ได้นอกจากที่ Lake Louise แห่งนี้เท่านั้น บรรยากาศน้ำสีมรกตของทะเลสาบตัดกับเทือกเขาร็อกกี้ที่ดูเข้มน่าเกรงขาม ช่างเป็นโมเม้นต์ที่น่าจดจำจริงๆ แม้เราจะเดินทางมาถึงที่นี่ในช่วงบ่าย ภาพที่ได้ย้อนแสงเล็กน้อย แต่ก็ได้อารมณ์ไปอีกแบบนะครับ
It does not make us disappointed at all. This kind of fineness could not be found anywhere else except at Lake Louise. Stay in the emerald water of the lake surrounded with Rocky mountain that are dark and formidable is memorable moment. Even we arrived here in the afternoon and the pictures are slightly backlit, but it is another romantic mood beyond our expectation.
การเช่ารถขับใน Calgary นี้ ง่ายมากๆ ทางดี ขับง่าย รถแทบทุกคันมี GPS ในตัว ราคาน้ำมันก็ไม่แพง น้ำมัน Regular (87) ราคาลิตรละ 1.29 CAD การรับ-คืนรถก็เป็นระบบ ไม่เสียเวลา แถมยังช่วยให้เราสามารถเดินทางไปยังที่ต่างๆ ได้อย่างสะดวก จะแวะอีกกี่ทะเลสาบก็ไม่หวั่น แถมที่สำคัญคือสามารถช่วยให้ปรับเปลี่ยนแผนการเดินทางได้ง่าย เพราะอากาศที่นี่เปลี่ยนแปลงตลอดเวลา เราจึงควรตรวจสอบสภาพอากาศให้ดีในการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวแต่ละวัน
Renting a car in Calgary is very easy. The roads are good and easy to drive. Almost every car has built-in GPS. The oil price is not expensive. Regular oil (87) is 1.29 CAD per liter. The process of get and return cars is easy to understand and take only few minutes. So, we can travel to many places easily. We can stop by at any lake. Moreover, we can change our plan since the weather here changes over time. We should check the weather before start the trip every day.
ได้เวลาโบกมืออำลาอุทยานและธรรมชาติสวยๆแห่งนี้กันแล้ว ขากลับเรานั่ง Domestic Flight จาก Calgary มายัง Vancouver เพื่อต่อเครื่องของสายการบิน Hong Kong Airlines ไปยังประเทศฮ่องกง โดยออกจาก Vancouver เวลา 12:10 น. และมาถึงฮ่องกงเวลา 16:50 น. (ของอีกวัน) เราจึงขอแวะเที่ยวฮ่องกง (Stopover) 1 วันก่อนกลับไทย หลายคนอยากรู้ว่า Hong Kong Airlines เค้าให้น้ำหนักโหลดสัมภาระกันเท่าไรต่อเที่ยว อย่างของเราจาก แคนาดา มาฮ่องกง ชั้นธุรกิจได้น้ำหนักคนละ 32 กิโลกรัม จำนวนกระเป๋า 2 ใบ และจากฮ่องกงกลับไทยได้น้ำหนักคนละ 20 กิโลกรัม จำนวน 1 ใบ เพราะเป็นชั้นประหยัด
It’s time to say goodbye to this beautiful park and nature. We took domestic flight from Calgary to Vancouver. Then we took Hong Kong Airlines flights to go to Hong Kong. We left Vancouver at 12.10 p.m. and arrived at Hong Kong at 4.50 p.m. (next day). We stopover at Hong Kong for 1 day. Many people want to know how much we can load in Hong Kong Airlines flight. We took business class from Canada to Hong Kong, so we can load 2 luggage which weigh up to 32 kilograms each. From Hong Kong to Thailand, we took Economy class so we can load up only 1 luggage weighing up to 20 kilograms.

There are 2 meals served together with the snack. We had Haagen-Dazs ice cream and steamed buns that are very good taste. All drinks are served throughout the flight.

ฮ่องกงคราวนี้เราเข้าพักที่โรงแรม ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan ซึ่งอยู่ฝั่ง Hong Kong แถวสถานี Central การเดินทางสะดวกสบาย เมื่อลงเครื่องปุ๊บ เราก็ต่อรถมาที่สถานี Central จากนั้นมี Shuttle Bus ให้บริการฟรี พามาส่งถึงหน้าโรงแรมเลย
Hong Kong
This time we stay at ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan hotel which located on Hong Kong island near Central Station. The transportation is very convenient. After landed, we can take direct bus to Central Station. Then we take free shuttle bus to go to the hotel.

Facilities in the room are fully equipped including mini-bar, refrigerator, and safety box. The shower room is so good. It is not very busy around the hotel because this area is not a tourist attraction, so we can completely relax. Breakfast is served at It’s All About Taste restaurant during 6.30 -10 a.m. (The price for adult is 141 HK$ and 70.5 HK$ for children). There are various kinds of food. After finished the meal, we can start shopping immediately.
หลังจากหมดพลังไปกับการชอปปิ้ง 1 วันเต็มๆ เราก็เตรียมตัวมาขึ้นเครื่องของสายการบิน Hong Kong Airlines เพื่อเดินทางกลับมายังประเทศไทย เครื่องออกเวลา 21:45 น. นับเป็นเวลาที่สวยมากๆ เพราะทำให้เราได้อยู่เที่ยวฮ่องกงได้เต็มวัน ใช้เวลาเดินทาง 3 ชั่วโมงเศษ ก็กลับถึงเมืองไทยเป็นที่เรียบร้อย สายการบินนี้ Full Service มีทั้งโหลดกระเป๋า อาหารร้อนทานบนเครื่อง กินอิ่มนอนหลับกลับถึงไทยปลอดภัย ^^
After spending a full day in shopping, we are preparing to board the Hong Kong Airlines flight in order to go back to Thailand. Our flight departs at 9.45 p.m. that is a very good timing because we have time to travel in Hong Kong for a full day. It takes only 3 hours to come back to Thailand. This airline is full service and we can load a lot of luggage. The hot foods are served on board. We can eat full and sleep well until we reach to Thailand safely.
